Al-Kabri was one of the most ancient villages in Palestine, and controlling it determined the fate of Akka and Northern Palestine, because it was the source of fresh water to the region. From the B.C. period the water of Kabri spring was drawn in channels to Akka, and the aqueduct one sees on the way from Akka northward carries the name “Al-Kabri Arches”.
